v1.0.0 Done?


Well, I’ve finally reached a point that I’m pretty happy with. I’ve tried to squeeze out as much PICO-8 tokens as possible and because of that I was able to add quite alot to this version, the so called v1.0.0. Thank you to everyone who actually sat down and played this game. Hopefully you were able to beat it, and if not I hope you try again soon. Here’s some of the changes:

Many, many changes

  • Spirit plane: now when you’re a spirit there’s a dark blue square that covers the edges of the screen to indicate that you’re a spirit.
  • Health: yep, now you don’t die instantly. But that also means other monster’s don’t, either.
  • Invicibility frames: when anything blinks, that means it has invincibility frames (iframes). You and other monsters get iframes when you spawn in and when you take damage.
  • Knockback: attacks have knockback now. Some knockback more based on the speed of the attacker.
  • Drops: monsters can either drop hp+, maxhp+ or a new powerup called monstrosity (it has a rainbow color)
  • XP drops: you now need to collect XP, and monsters will always drop one. If they collected any XP they’ll drop it, too.
  • Monstrosity: When you have monstrosity you emit rainbow colors and can instakill things.
  • Knives: humans with knives can now stab things by pressing the ability button which will extend their range.
  • New updated tips.
  • Font: Utilized PICO-8’s puny font.
  • Reworked HUD.
  • Added a couple useful sfxs.
  • Potentially other things.
